Story:
Life Is Beautiful Sekhar Kammula directing this movie under Amigos Creations banner. Mickey J Meyer scored music for this movie.Film starts with Amala convincing her three children, Srinu (Abhijeet), (Rashmi Shastry) & younger daughter Chinni to go for Hyderabad and stay with their grandmother, continuing with their study’s. Srinu comes to Hyderabad to stay at their granny’s home at sun shine valley. Here he makes new friends and starts new life, forming a batch of six friends. Sun shine valley has two phases, one phase has rich people houses named as gold phase and other phase has upper-middle class family houses named as b-block. The rest of the story is formed with what happens in the life of these six youngsters in the time frame of two years.Amala Akkineni, Shriya Saran and Anjala Zaveri playing the important roles in this movie.
Analysis:
Life is Beautiful's First half is entertaining with right mix of comedy, romance and drama. Sekhar Kammula, who is regarded as one of the sensible directors of Tollywood took lot of pain and has come up with apt casting. Life is Beautiful grabs the attention of the audience through out the first half and the narration attracts. Especially the chemistry between Srinivas-Paddu and Nagaraju-Lakshmi has been etched well. Though the first half is entertaining, Sekhar Kammula made pre interval episode very heavy with adequate melodrama.
Movie Director seems to have lost the tempo in the second half, as the movie is good in parts. When ever there is boring moment, Sekhar Kammula adds some emotion content which makes audience end in tears. In spite of having few entertaining scenes, second half of the movie has been made very heavy with over dosage of mother sentiment. The concept of distinguishing B-Phase colony and Gold Phase colony has been convincing.
Flight scene where Shriya Saran is on her way to Vizag looked artificial. Amala Akkineni has made her comeback into films nearly after 20 years and her performance is excellent in a limited role especially in the climax. However, there is no proper connection among few scenes and some times you feel Life is Beautiful is very routine one.
Performances:
Amala Akkineni has played a very key role in this film and her performance is highlight of the film. Her screen presence and acting is same as she was 20 years back in her last film ‘Aagraham’. Shriya looked fabulous in this film and singer sunitha dubbing added more weight to her performances. Anjala Zaveri was used very partly in his film but she makes her mark in the audiences mind. Abhijeet Duddala as srinivas & Shagun Kaur as Paddu looks promising to be future stars. Other lead actors Zara Shah, Sudhakar, Kaushik & Rashmi Shastry looked all right.
Technicalities:
Life Is Beautiful - Sekhar Kammula has taken two years to complete this film, his hard work can be seen in the screen. The colony set created by art director Thotta Tharani looks very natural. Cinematography by Vijay C. Kumar is appreciable. Marthand K. Venkatesh editing could be beter. Music by Micky J Meyer is an asset to the film and songs inked by Anantha Sreeram and Vanamali are treat to listen
Final Word:
Go and Watch the film with low expectation and when you have time to spare. First half of the movie is a jolly ride. And the problem is with the never ending second half but it contains some excellent sentimental scenes more particularly towards the climax.
